Encouraging and improving diversity and inclusion within the technology industry is incredibly important to us here at Ventula and something we spend a lot of time focusing on alongside our fantastic clients.
We decided that we wanted to create an initiative that would help bridge the gender gap within tech and Women TechConnect was born.
Women TechConnect is a free mentorship program and community dedicated to empowering and supporting women in technology careers.
In this blog, we'll delve into the Women TechConnect initiative, its benefits for participants, who can participate as a mentor or mentee, and the program's vision of becoming a close-knit, collaborative network of professionals.
What is the Women TechConnect Mentoring Programme and Community?
We have created a bespoke mentorship and community platform which allows mentees to connect with external mentors from across the technology industry. The platform is easy to use and allows individuals to create a detailed profile outlining the areas they may be able to help with and/or the areas that they feel they would benefit from mentor support. Mentors and Mentees can then be matched automatically by the platform or send connection requests directly to individuals they feel are a good fit.
The platform allows communication via video call and messaging and also includes scheduling tools so that meetings can be arranged between participants.
The aim is that women at earlier stages of their careers will benefit from advice, support and mentoring from more experienced individuals.
There will also be regular masterclass webinars covering a range of topics and in person events/meetups.
Whether you're an aspiring student or a seasoned professional, Women TechConnect welcomes Women at all stages of their tech journey.
